This past year has presented our family of four with its fair share of challenges. Currently, my bank account stands at a meager $5.96, and the father of my children is falling significantly behind with a $12,000 child support deficit. Alongside these financial struggles, we've grappled with health setbacks, including open-heart surgery and a stroke, compounded by a job loss that has left us in a tight spot.
As the holiday season approaches, my three children would deeply appreciate receiving cards filled with prayers, well-wishes, or even modest gifts. They've created Amazon wishlists, still framed as letters to Santa (although my 11-year-old might just be playing along for Mama and her sibling's sakes). While some wishes may seem ambitious, I've reminded them to keep expectations modest and focus on the true meaning of the season. Any small gesture, like a Walmart gift card with a nominal amount for groceries, would be an immense blessing for our family. We're sincerely hoping that, with a bit of assistance, we can experience a Christmas miracle this year.
I want to clarify that, despite being the sole provider for my family, my income, unfortunately, hasn't proven sufficient to cover all our expenses this year. I faced periods without pay during my youngest's heart surgery and my own stroke, and later endured another stretch without income after losing a seasonal position. These setbacks, coupled with relying on credit cards for survival, have created quite a mess for our little family.
Your kindness and generosity could truly make a world of difference.
Wishing you abundant blessings for considering and extending compassion to our family. Here's to a brighter year ahead.
