UPDATE TO ADD: The list is just things we looked at and he seemed to really enjoy, but I just want something for him to have to open. Dollar tree toys, cards, literally anything would be appreciated by both of us.
My younger brother is turning 12 this Christmas. For him, it’s a day that blends magic, celebration, and wonder—a day he eagerly counts down to every year. But this year, I’m struggling to make it as special as it should be.
He's an extraordinary boy. He faces challenges like ADHD, OCD, and ODD, yet his spirit is unbreakable. He’s brilliant, sweet, and loving, with a fascination for space, a love for Spider-Man, and a joy for the simple magic of toys and discovery. He has the biggest heart I’ve ever known and has taught me so much about patience, compassion, and love.
As his older sibling and primary caregiver, I work part-time while attending school to support us. But this year, our financial situation is tighter than ever, and I find myself unable to afford even a small gift for his birthday and Christmas. The thought of him waking up to an empty tree and no birthday surprise breaks my heart.
I’m reaching out with the hope that someone might help me make this day as special as he is. Whether it’s a small toy, a book, or simply a sweet card, any kindness would mean the world to us. My deepest wish is to see his face light up with the joy and wonder every child deserves to feel during the holidays.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this. I know times are hard for so many, and I am endlessly grateful for any kindness, guidance, or support you might be able to offer.
(I had him make a letter online. Covered his name for safety.)
